    3. Merge onto Route 1: After approximately 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) on Route 21, merge onto Route 1 (also known as the Inter-American Highway) heading south. Continue following signs for Route 1 towards Nicoya.
    4. Pass Through Nicoya: Travel along Route 1 for approximately 70 kilometers (43.5 miles) until you reach the historic town of Nicoya. Nicoya is known for its colonial architecture, vibrant culture, and bustling streets.
    5. Continue on Route 150: From Nicoya, take Route 150 towards Naranjo Beach (Playa Naranjo). This road will lead you towards the coast and ultimately to La Perla Negra.
    6. Arrive at La Perla Negra: La Perla Negra is located in Playa Naranjo, a tranquil beach town on the Nicoya Peninsula. Follow Route 150 until you reach Playa Naranjo. La Perla Negra has specific directions and signage from the main road, so be sure to follow the provided instructions to reach your destination.

    1. Depart from San Jose Airport (SJO): Start your journey at San Jose Airport, located in Alajuela province, just outside of San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica.
    2. Travel to Puntarenas: Take the scenic drive from San Jose to Puntarenas, a coastal city located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Enjoy the picturesque landscapes of lush forests and rolling hills along the way.
    3. Board the Ferry at Puntarenas: Arrive at the ferry terminal in Puntarenas, where you’ll board the ferry to Paquera. Ferries depart multiple times per day, with varying schedules depending on the season. Be sure to check the ferry schedule in advance and arrive early to secure your spot.
